In my last year as an undergraduate, I was part of the Chancellor's Undergraduate Internship Program. This provided me with access to a class taught by the chancellor covering aspects of portfolio, presenting yourself as a professional and lectures from other members of the campus leadership. Each student was required to complete a project during the year. For my project I proposed a measure to the student government and then the campus population that would charge each student $2 a trimester for a total of $6 a year that would then cover the costs of tickets to Theater Arts show, providing every student the possibility of seeing shows for free. In addition, these costs raised production values, gave Theater Arts students more to work with and presented higher quality shows to those who came to see them. This measure required working with faculty and staff in the Theater Arts Department, student government, and garnering support from the student body.
